''Our History''

Barbara Holder, Founder and Director

The name "Liberty Springboard" holds special significance, inspired by Uncle Frank, a very dear friend of Barbara's mother, who is no longer with us; he was like a father figure.

A short Ghanaian man, full of wit and humour, always with a smile on his face and fun to be around. He was a straight talker who Barbara loved and respected dearly. When Barbara was about 12, Uncle Frank shared a statement one day in his soft Ghanaian tone: ''you use your past as a springboard to your future''. He never got to witness Barbara become better or use her past as a springboard to her future - this organisation is in memory of Uncle Frank.

These words resonated deeply with Barbara, influencing the mission of the organisation to empower women to overcome traumatic experiences and shape their own futures positively.

Liberty Springboard believe that; ''Our History is Not Our Destiny''.
